I will start by saying that I used drugs for many years to achieve an altered state of consciousness. I learned many things from these experiences, but I feel ready to move into exploring the nature of Reality itself. I do not want to judge or criticize anyone who currently uses mind-altering substances, but I am seeking replies from people who have formerly used/abused drugs and have now moved into a phase of feeling content without herbal or pharmaceutical enhancements.

I've been puzzling over what is so compelling about Jack and Andrew that intelligent adults continue to debate them. I think that Michael referred to how they remind him of his own shadow, which I think is a good insight. Andrew writes that he is actually an asset to Zaadz in terms of the number of postings in the EB pod. However, I'd think that would be offset by the staff time required to clean up the messes created there.

On the Larry King Show this evening, a panel of several people testified about their experiences with UFOs. They were making an appearance on the program apparently in anticipation of an event in Washington, DC, this coming week, where officials and military folks from around the world will be meeting to discuss the UFO phenomenon - and to present the positive evidence that has been collected to date.

I think this issue deserves a more integral analysis, but it was originally posted on a Green'ish forum, so you can imagine I wasn't able to fully share my views.

Lucid dreaming may be simply defined as dreaming with awareness that you are dreaming. It may occur spontaneously or as a result of the dreamer noticing incongruities or impossibilities in the dream. Although it has been noted in the West at least as far back as Aristotle, awareness of the phenomenon of lucid dreaming did not enter the public consciousness on any large scale until relatively recently, notably following the publication in 1985 of Stephen LaBerge's groundbreaking book Lucid Dreaming: The Power of Being Awake and Aware in Your Dreams. In the East there is a rich tradition of lucid dreaming in certain meditation traditions, but here we will focus on the Western approach – although it is worth noting that studies have shown the incidence of spontaneous lucid dreams tends to increase in long-term meditators.
